Pride comes to Provo

Provo might be an unlikely place to be hosting an LGBT Pride Festival, but it’s about time it does.

With two large universities at its door step, this Utah city of over 100,000 has enough progressively minded people to no doubt make the Sept. 21 festival a resounding success.

That is, if they can keep the haters at bay.

It’s the comments that aren’t getting through that have me worried. Most newspapers review online comments for content–and the Daily Herald comment board has a “report abuse” button that allows readers to police themselves. I’d hate to see what isn’t getting through.

There were some notable comments sticking up for our LGBT sisters and brothers in Utah County.provo image
