They say even a broken clock is right twice a day.
As the founder of the Alliance for a Better Utah, I have agreed with Paul Mero, former head of the self-proclaimed conservative Sutherland Institute, on few things. But Mero and Sutherland were important and stalwart supporters of sensible immigration policy when Utah was threatening to follow Arizona’s intolerant and discriminatory SB1070.
And Mero absolutely nailed it in his July 22 op-ed describing the current state and problems with the national and Utah GOPs. Whatever the reason — broken clock or solid analysis — we should all heed Mero’s recent words.
