TERRIFIC TERRARIUMS-2

Happy Endings, New Beginnings

We all know the man behind the curtain was the source of power for the fabled Wizard of Oz; similarly, the Alliance for a Better Utah relies on the exceptional talents of dedicated people to help bring balance, transparency, and accountability to our state. I invite you to peek behind the curtain and meet some of the members of our amazing Better Utah team.

First, it gives me great pleasure to announce our new Karen Shepherd Policy and Advocacy Fellow, Laura Boyer! Laura recently graduated from BYU with a degree in political science and will be with us for a year as she prepares to start law school in 2018. To learn more about the experience Laura brings to our team, as well as some of her interesting (but perhaps not-so-relevant) favorite things, click here.

It has also been a time of sadness in our office as we bid farewell to our latest batch of summer interns. I treasure the opportunity I have as Better Utah’s board chair to meet and work with some of the brightest minds of the millennial generation — high school and college-aged students who are hardworking, talented, and dedicated to improving their communities.

Below are the newest alumni of our Karen Shepherd Internship Program. We are so grateful for the hard work each of them put in this summer and for their commitment to making Utah a better place for all of us. To learn more about the internship program and and the work these and former interns performed while with us here at Better Utah, including their various publications, click here.

Please join me in welcoming Laura to our team and wishing our interns good luck as they move on to their next adventures! As always, thank you for continuing to work together with us towards a Better Utah.

– Josh Kanter, Better Utah Founder and Board Chair

P.S. I hope you will consider making a donation today so we can continue to attract the highest-caliber individuals to work with us here at Better Utah as part of our Karen Shepherd Fellowship and Internship programs. We rely on your support for all the work we do!
