Group calls for councilman accused of drunk driving to resign

A government watchdog agency said a city councilman, who may have been drunk behind the wheel, should resign.

The Alliance for a Better Utah also said it looks like the city leader received special treatment.

The council man was allegedly drinking on July 19 when witnesses say he hit a car. It is alleged that someone took his keys and drove him home and then he walked back to the bar, got his car and drove it home.

Police visiting his home and talking to him about an hour after the reported incident is all on West Jordan police body cam footage.  Police say he received a fine, not special treatment.
