Better Utah Welcomes New Executive Director

Taylor Knuth joins the Better Utah Team

Salt Lake City, UT – This week, Jeff Merchant passes the torch to Taylor Knuth, who is stepping into the Executive Director role at Alliance for a Better Utah and Better Utah Institute. 

“We’re thrilled to have Taylor on board,” said Jeff Merchant, Better Utah’s outgoing Executive Director. “For over a decade, Better Utah has served as the leading voice for progressive values in our state. Taylor has a wealth of experiences and skills to build upon our past successes and fight for an even better future for our state.” 

From coordinating homelessness resources to public arts administration, Knuth’s career has been dedicated to making his home state of Utah a better place. He earned his undergraduate degree at Weber State, his masters at Southern Utah University, and is completing his PhD at the University of Utah. A thoughtful and enthusiastic community leader, Knuth has grown community, municipal, and education organizations throughout Northern Utah. His strategic coalition building, impactful communications, and transformative community engagement have enriched the organizations he’s worked with.

“I’m excited to join Better Utah” Knuth says, “We’re at a pivotal time in our country and our state, and I will use every one of my skills and experience to further Better Utah’s mission of empowering Utah’s electorate and driving positive change through the political process.
