ACA “Repeal and Replace” Report

In January 2017, Alliance for a Better Utah released a survey asking Utahns to share their opinion about the GOP’s plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. After receiving over 1,700 responses, Better Utah compiled and released a report on the views of these Utahns.

A large majority of those we surveyed do not support Congress’ plan and would like to retain essential benefits of the ACA, including protections against pre-existing conditions, the ability to stay on your parents’ plan until the age of 26, parity for mental health and substance abuse, free preventative care, and coverage for women’s health and contraceptive, among others. The report also contained stories from 20 of the people who responded to the survey.

After releasing the report to the public, Better Utah sent the report to all of Utah’s state and federal lawmakers, in addition to hand-delivering the report to the Governor and Lt. Governor.
