Vote. Track. Share.

The moment we’ve been waiting for is here — it’s time to vote! Utahns all over the state have started receiving their ballots. Here’s what you need to know to make sure your vote counts. It’s as simple as: Vote. Track. Share.

VOTE. Be an early voter. We like to tell people to be an October voter. That means putting your ballot in the mail by October 20th or dropping it in an official election drop box by October 31. To find drop box locations, visit your county clerk’s website or visit vote.utah.gov and click on “How can I vote?” for more information. While these are not the official state deadlines, we like to recommend this early voting timeline, as it leaves time for errors to be corrected, should you encounter any.

Make sure to read through and follow the directions listed on your ballot, that way the clerk can contact you if there are any problems and they need to verify your vote. The official last day to mail back your ballot is Monday, Nov. 2, and you can drop your ballot in a drop box up to 8:00 PM on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3.

If you choose to vote in-person, you have two options — voting early or voting on election day. The early voting period in most counties is October 20-31, and every county has at least one polling location available on election day itself. For your county’s specific polling locations and times, visit vote.utah.gov.  But remember to vote early. You won’t regret it.

TRACK. Once you have submitted your ballot via mail or drop box, you can track your ballot to make sure it has been received and counted by your clerk. You can literally check to make sure your vote counts. Pretty cool, huh? Share the good news with the people you love!

SHARE. Once you’ve verified that your vote has been counted, share it with your friends and family. Even better, we hope that you will share your entire voting journey because it could encourage and remind others in your community to be early voters, too. While you’re at it, post a picture on your social media and tag us. Seeing YOU engaged is what makes this voting season so special. Democracy is worth celebrating—let’s celebrate together!
