Before Utah builds new prison, it should build new prison policy

eric rumple imageBetter UTAH analyst Eric Rumple took to the opinion pages of the Salt Lake Tribune this weekend to discuss the Prison Relocation and Development Authority (PRADA) and their efforts to move the Utah State Prison from its current location in Draper. Eric argued that PRADA has neglected the important topic of prison reform in their ongoing discussions.

Imagine an issue that conservative Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, liberal Democratic (and founder of the Congressional Black Caucus) Rep. John Conyers, and conservative Republican Texas Gov. Rick Perry all agree on. That issue is prison reform.
