Law firm must give election law complaint thorough and independent investigation

Salt Lake City — The Alliance for a Better UTAH has released the following statement after learning that the Lt. Governor’s Office has named counsel for an investigation into alleged election law violations:

“Despite the law’s requirement for expediency, and our frustration at the delays, we are pleased that counsel has finally been named and we are hopeful that Snell & Wilmer will conduct a thorough, impartial investigation. We encourage the Snell & Wilmer team to consider the full outline of concerns raised in the complaint and to fully examine the Attorney General’s election-related activities. We believe that the only way to restore the public trust in the Attorney General’s office is to ensure that these investigations are independent, in-depth, and beyond reproach.”
