On Wednesday, 3rd Congressional District candidate, Democrat Kathie Allen, tweeted out a photo criticizing Provo Mayor John Curtis for supporting Trump’s wall.
On the left is a photo showing men holding tiki torches at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, and on the right is a photo of the statue of Liberty holding her iconic flame.
Allen’s tweet? “Dear Mayor Curtis: Pick A Torch. You can’t have it both ways!”
Curtis released a campaign statement on the offensive tweet made by Allen.
“Democrat Kathie Allen Insinuating that John Curtis is a white supremacist is a ridiculous charge and a new level of desperation for her struggling campaign. Just because her far-left ideas have failed to catch on here in Utah, it doesn’t give her the right to call Republicans Nazis. She should apologize for the tweet and take it down.” – Danny Laub, Spokesman
Alliance for a Better Utah has scheduled a debate for Utah’s 3rd Congressional District on Friday the 13 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Eastmont Middle School.
