Count My Vote doesn’t fix all voting issues

Late last month the Alliance for a Better UTAH officially endorsed the Count My Vote Initiative. Although the initiative will be a welcome step for reforming Utah’s broken caucus system, it is only the first step. Better UTAH board member Sheryl Allen took to the opinion pages of the Deseret News to argue the important next-steps in improving Utah’s electoral system.

Alliance for a Better UTAH has endorsed Count My Vote. However, supporters must refrain from seeing the initiative as the beginning and end of Utah’s electoral problems. Indeed, it is just one element, albeit a very important one, of a list of reforms necessary to improve our civic landscape.
