After news that a key Utah Republican organizer and fundraiser, Greg Peterson, has been charged with 23 felony counts of rape and sexual assault, the Alliance for a Better UTAH calls on candidates to donate money they may have received from Mr. Peterson to the Utah Rape Recovery Center.

“This is about showing respect to women, and not accepting tainted money,” says Maryann Martindale, Executive Director of the Alliance for a Better UTAH. “We’re asking any candidate who may have received money from or through Mr. Peterson to donate that money to organizations such as the Utah Rape Recovery Center who work tirelessly to help women who are victims of these horrific crimes.”

“The victimization of women is not a partisan matter and we would hope that any candidates or elected officials who have may have received money through Mr. Peterson, would see the wisdom in donating that money. It would send a strong statement of support to the women of Utah.”
