Contact Your Legislator!

How can your legislators¬†truly represent you if you don’t let them know what you would like them to do? Reach out to your representative or senator to let them know how you feel about the issues, what you think about things they’re involved with, and how they should vote on bills!

You can contact your legislator in various ways — visiting in person, sending an email, calling their phone, or even through sending a text! The most effective way to communicate with your legislator is by visiting them in person. You can do this by going up to the Capitol and talking to them outside the House or Senate chambers (just ask for the slip of paper from the people sitting at the desk and they’ll deliver it to your representative or senator who will then come out to talk to you) or you can set up an appointment to visit them. The next best way is to text! Since they receive so many emails and phone calls, and between all their meetings sometimes they can’t answer the phone or take the time to read all the emails they receive, and so a text is a simple way to deliver your message.

If you’d like to email your representative or senator, use the links below. By entering your address, it will automatically send an email to the legislator that represents you. The table below contains the phone numbers and twitter handles for Utah legislators. (Yes, Twitter is actually a great way to keep track of what your legislator is doing and to communicate with them!) If you don’t know who your representative or senator is, you can enter in your address at this link and it will let you know what districts you live in.
